MOONSPELL Frontman Comments On 'Nocturnal Mourning' Tour

June 19, 2006

Portugal's #1 heavy metal export MOONSPELL are preparing to embark on their first headlining tour in five years. Vocalist Fernando Ribeiro fondly recalls, "Last time we headlined was late 2001, after the release of 'Darkness and Hope'. The support band was LACUNA COIL on their very first American experience. We can't wait to get back to play our own show and to underline the great ties we built in all of our tours there with our small but very dedicated fan basis. 'Memorial' is intense live and we want our American shows to follow up what we have been doing in Europe so far."

This is the first American tour for MOONSPELL in support of "Memorial", the band's latest release. This time around fans can expect "better and bigger production. We are finally bringing our light team with us. We will have the full strength of 'Memorial', the theatrics... the passion... it will all be there" enthuses Ribeiro.

Supporting MOONSPELL on the appropriately labeled "Nocturnal Mourning" tour are KATATONIA and DAYLIGHT DIES. Ribeiro raves, "I love KATATONIA and I think they are the most brilliant band around. 'Dance of December Souls' is still my album for the rainy days. DAYLIGHT DIES caught my attention with an advance single and since then I purchased 'No Reply' and 'Dismantling Devotion' to get really deeply into this band that, with a life of their own, brings me back to the glorious days of death doom, a style so close to my heart and soul. I believe it is a great, great package with original, individual bands that do it for the passion and for the music. The moonfest for all undergrounders!!! The Euro fans are very jealous!"

The "Nocturnal Mourning" tour is scheduled to kick off October 20 at The Loft in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dates and venues are subject to change.
